MailIn October 2009, Movetis was granted authorisation to market Resolor® in the 30 countries of the European Economic Area (EU27, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) for the symptomatic treatment of chronic constipation in women in whom laxatives fail to provide adequate relief.
Because of pricing and reimbursement formalities, the product will be launched in the EEA countries at different timepoints.
In the first quarter of 2010, Movetis made Resolor (prucalopride) commercially available in Germany and the United Kingdom.
Later in 2010, Movetis expects to introduce Resolor (prucalopride) in the Netherlands and to continue the preparations for the product launch in France and Belgium (incl. Luxemburg).
In addition, Movetis is continuing to pursue its strategy of partnering to roll-out Resolor in the European Economic Area beyond these five markets. Movetis is also continuing to work with Johnson & Johnson to prepare for the filing and eventual launch of Resolor outside Europe.
A collaboration with the UK-based company IDIS was set up in order to provide pre-launch access to Resolor® in those countries where such pre-launch access is allowed under the local regulations. Physicians and pharmacists can contact IDIS for more information (www.idispharma.com).
