Business model

Movetis aims to be a leading European specialty pharmaceutical company focused on the GI space. Key to this aim is ensuring the commercial success of our lead product, Resolor.

Movetis is establishing its own sales and marketing force in preparation for the launch of Resolor in selected countries and will seek, where necessary, to form partnerships to grow the sales of Resolor in certain territories.

Movetis is also concentrating on the development of its broader pipeline that includes products in several stages of development. Movetis may seek to leverage its GI discovery platform with partnerships or licensing collaborations as appropriate.

Movetis’ highly experienced team manages a network of preferred discovery, development and commercial partners from around the world. We create value for patients and shareholders by guiding products from development, through to commercialisation.

our products can help both doctors and patientsWithin the very large GI market, estimated to be worth more than $41 billion globally in 2008, Movetis is focused on a number of diseases which are currently not well treated. These areas of unmet need represent a large patient group estimated at 140 million patients in the US and EU (in 2008), most of whom would benefit from new and innovative therapies. At Movetis, we believe that our products can help both doctors and patients address these unmet medical needs.

Since our inception in November 2006, we have continually challenged traditional benchmark timelines and existing quality standards and this is reflected in the speed at which we have already progressed several of our development programs.

Starting with Resolor (prucalopride), which recently (in october 2009) gained European Commission approval for the symptomatic treatment of chronic constipation in women in whom laxatives fail to provide adequate relief, we intend to build a commercial presence in selected markets in the EU. For other countries we intend to use a combination of partnerships with established players and distributors to commercialise this novel product.

By using Resolor to create this pan European platform we will then be in a position to capture a significant part of the value of its success. This will allow us to both create value for our shareholders and to invest further in the clinical and preclinical development of new, promising compounds.
